May Day 2011 with Cam Valley Morris
Cam Valley Morris traditionally celebrate May Day by dancing on Glastonbury Tor at sunrise. For most this means getting up at around 3-3.30 am so they can drive to Glastonbury and climb the Tor in readiness for the (hopefully) rising sun. I woke up at 3 but chickened out!
Next stop is the Chalice Well in Glastonbury where more celebrations? take place, and then on to the serious stuff which involves beer, food and more dancing, blocking pavements and roads as necessary. The weather wasn't great, just a little sun and a chilly wind but a really enjoyable day out anyway.

At the end of the dance the virgin is usually lifted on to the shoulders of the dancers but she struggled and Becky wriggled free - all things considered though, May Day was celebrated successfully!
