Ploughing Matches
The Mendip Ploughing Society, established in 1858, holds it's annual ploughing match in September each year at different farms on Mendip. There are also hedging and dry stone walling competitions, plus the "produce" which includes hay, silage, grains, potatoes, and a variety of other things. It is a great way to spend a day seeing the skills of the competitors and enjoying a good lunch prepared by the ladies.
